Minor Update

When I got the first feedback from the players who weren't kept up to date with the project previously, it seemed that the rules of the game weren't obvious previously. I've tried to work out an interactive sandbox that could be opened as a tutorial at any point while playing through the game's main levels, but I got stuck on it and couldn't work out what was wrong. So for now, I opted for an easier way to explain the game: an animation that plays on the first level. It's low effort, but for now, it will hopefully do the trick. Some of the level descriptions have also been changed to help this out.

The interactive demo published as part of this page is my first published video game, so some issues might still be there. The two most significant flaws I could find are listed below:

  • Sometimes if you click the playing die before moving it, it flies to the top left corner, before reappearing in its original spot. This isn't a game-breaking bug that would cause the game to end prematurely, so I figured it's not worth spending too much time trying to fix it.
  • The loading time for the game is pretty long because of the music. Converting the game's music to .aac format reduced its size and loading time significantly, but some of the tracks sounded a lot worse. I've also attempted to keep only the tracks that sounded bad as .wav and convert the rest to .aac, but the music went out of sync and didn't sound good.

If you find any other issues or bugs, especially ones that could break the game or cause a victory/loss accidentally, feedback with a screenshot would be greatly appreciated! If it's required, please tell me how to simulate the bug.

For now, I should focus on writing the actual PDF for the TTRPG part of this project. Thank you for reading, and have a nice day!
